Starting a company - 2007/03/25 06:02 Hey all! I'm looking to get out of the dead end known as ESL teaching. I've been doing it for a few years and t's making me age fast. However, I do not want to leave Thailand and don't want to have to live here traveling to Camboddia every month to renew my visa. So I'm wondering, who out there has started a small company in Thailand and how hard is it to do? How much money, paperwork etc? I would want to start something like a translation company or firm that helps to place teachers in schools. Something I am already knowledgable about.

Re:Starting a company - 2007/03/26 09:27 Lots of law firms to help with this, but be sure to get a reputable one. The companies in the back of the Bangkok Post classifieds saying they can set up a company for 8,000THB or thereabouts are spurious. It is the same as Air Asia having 400B flights with 2,500B in taxes on each leg of the trip.

You are probably going to be in for at least 100K if you count travel to sort your VISA and paperwork. It can be less it all depends. Good luck..

Cheeers,

Marcello

Re:Starting a company - 2007/05/04 11:59 I believe one reputable firm is Sunbelt Asia

They can also sponsor you for non-immigrant b visas for Thailand, but you have to leave Asia to get a year-long visa.

check it.
