The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will establish a fund for the project to turn Bangkok into a paradise. A BMA spokesman said the fund would be used mostly to tackle problems such as garbage, pollution, traffic and drugs, and to improve access to recreational activities, sports and education in the capital. The plan will be funded by excise taxes on cigarettes, hotels and gasoline. The initiative is expected to be completed in four years.
